St. Patrick’s Day treat

This is a St. Patrick’s Day treat I made for my son’s class. Dip Oreo cookies in chocolate about half way then put them on wax paper to cool a little. Sprinkle or dip chocolate covered Oreo cookies in green sugar sprinkles. Put back on wax paper and stick them in the fridge to cool for a couple hours. Package them up in little snack bags or get a little fancy and use St. Patrick Day bags. Now that is a cute, quick treat for the class to enjoy.

Help teach your child letters

This is just a piece of paper with the lower case letters written on it. Mix all the letters up so they are not in order, this helps the child recognize each individual letter. Work on your sounds when going over each letter. My next post will show something you can do with this paper to add some extra fun while learning. Have fun with your child learning their ABC’s.

Letter, number and shape recognition

Have your children practice writing their letters and numbers with their fingers in  conditioner , toothpaste, washable paint and shaving cream . Put all these items in separate zip lock bags and seal them closed. Shaving cream does not stay that long in the bag but the toothpaste, paint and conditioner stays for a long time. You can add food coloring or colored washable paint to the shaving cream to change the color. You can also go through the sounds of each letter while your child writes them. Have some fun teaching your child/children their letters, numbers and sounds.

Crackle nail polish

Crackle nail polish on our toes. My girl’s and I love Crackle nail polish on our fingers and toes, this polish is so much fun. I have had better luck with this nail polish when you use new nail polish, even if it is from the dollar store.

Helpful tips for plants and your garden

If your house plants or garden plants need a little help growing use Epsom Salt. Dissolve 2 tablespoons of Epsom Salt per gallon of water and water your plants with this solution at least once a month. It’s safe to do this as often as you desire. I used this solution on my starter seeds for the garden and germination was 7 to 10 days but my seeds started coming up in 5 days. This really does work! Hope you like the tip and have fun watching your plants grow faster.

Cleaning the Oven,

Mix up 1/4 cup of baking soda and water to make a paste (Make sure your oven is OFF and NOT HOT). Spread it all over the inside of the Oven with your fingers and wait 30 minutes, wipe down with a damp rag. If your oven is really dirty you will need to do this a couple of times. Your oven will be nice and clean! Hope you like the home remedy tip and having fun cleaning the oven without all the fumes.

Number Recognition

pinningparent.blogspot.com This is a piece of paper with numbers written on it covered up with pop bottle caps. Mix all the numbers up so they are not in order, this helps the child recognize each individual number. Save your pop bottle caps. Write numbers on the top of the pop bottle caps and numbers on a piece of blank paper. You and your child can play a match-up game with the numbers on the pop bottle caps to the numbers on the paper. Have fun while teaching your child their numbers.

Apple Pumpkin Brown Betty

pinningparent.blogspot.com This was the best dessert ever, you really have to make this! My sister doubled the recipe for the October Fest party my other sister had. Yummy!!! Thank You Food Network for my sister found your recipe! Slice off and reserve the top 1 1/2 inches of the pumpkin. Scoop out the seeds and stringy pulp. Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the bread and cook, stirring occasionally, until golden, about 4 minutes; transfer to a bowl. Ad

My Girl’s Bracelets

pinningparent.blogspot.com These I made for my girls. This was just as easy and as cheap as the other bracelet I posted, just take a trip to the craft store. Buy a smaller size bracelet for her little wrist and the color beads you like and that’s it. Go home and put the beads on the bracelet, all done. My girls really loved them! Hope you make one soon for your little princess.

Face Tightening with honey

pinningparent.blogspot.com Honey can be used as a face tightening home remedy. Honey is able to retain moisture in the skin, improving elasticity which then helps with wrinkles and tightens sagging facial skin. Just apply a thin layer to your face and leave it on for about 20 to 30 minutes, then rinse it off with warm water. I hope you like this home remedy.

Green Onions and Helpful Tip

pinningparent.blogspot.com Cut the greens off your green onions once you are done using them, big or small pieces, it’s up to you in the size you like or need. Get an empty water bottle that you have washed out and put the green onions into the bottle. Freeze them! When you need some for your dish just go to the freezer, shake out what you need and save the rest. No more extra trips to the store for just green onions. I hope you like the helpful tip and if you have a helpful tip please go ahead and share it with all of us, thanks.

Halloween Kitty Litter Brownies

pinningparent.blogspot.com Kitty litter brownies were a hit at my sister's fall party. Make your brownies by the directions on the box, heat some chocolate up and spread on the top of your brownies. Crunch up some Graham Crackers in a bag and sprinkle it on top of the chocolate, then add the rest of the chocolate as poop. You can add some graham crackers on top of the poop to make it look like real kitty litter, this was fun! Make something for Halloween that you can take to share.

Pool and Bubbles

pinningparent.blogspot.com We had this pool from when my children were toddlers, so we decided to fill it with bubbles on this hot day. My three children had so much fun with this, they spent hours in it. Just some water and bubbles for hours of fun and they even put the dog in it and gave her a bath.

Letter Recognition

pinningparent.blogspot.com This is a piece of paper with capital letters written on it covered up with milk caps. Mix all the letters up so they are not in order, this helps the child recognize each individual letter. Work on your sounds when going over each letter and save your milk caps. Write capital and lower case letters on the top of the milk caps and write capital and lower case letters on a piece of blank paper. You and your child can play a match-up game with the letters on the paper, to the letters on the milk caps. Match capital letters on the caps to the capital letters on the paper or you could match capital letters on the paper to the lower case letters on the milk caps. Have fun teaching your child their ABC’s.

Kids Bracelets

pinningparent.blogspot.com pinningparent.blogspot.com These were two of the bracelets I made for myself. All you have to do is go to the craft store, I went to Craft 2000, buy the bracelet and the beads. Go home and add whatever color beads you like to the bracelet. Very easy and a lot cheaper than buying one of the name brand bracelets.

Letter Recognition with Sand

pinningparent.blogspot.com I put green sand in a container to practice our letters, shapes, and numbers. The children can use their fingers or a pencil so they don’t get the sand on their fingers. Leave a comment about something you have done to help your child learn.

Kid’s table and chairs with chalk board paint

pinningparent.blogspot.com Here is my children’s little table that’s about 7 years old, it needs the screws tightened up on it and really could use a new paint job. So I have an idea to make this fresh and cool.                                                             pinningparent.blogspot.com                                                                             This is now the kid’s new table and chairs after tightening the screws and a fresh paint job. I used chalkboard paint from the hardware store. All you need to do is get chalkboard paint, a paint tray to hold the paint, a roller to roll it on and one sponge paintbrush for all the hard to reach areas. Go ahead and paint, don’t forget to read the instructions on the back of the paint can. The table and chairs look so neat now and it will be good for another 7 years or until the kids stop using it. I also used the chalkboard paint on our end tables that were already black and were in need of a new pa

End of the Year Gift for the Teacher

pinningparent.blogspot.com This is the Kindergarten classroom table, before the picture. There are 8 of these that I brought home to do a neat little surprise for the teacher and the kids. pinningparent.blogspot.com This is what I did for the teacher and her little ones for the end of a year gift. I toke all 8 tables home and cleaned them, then I went and bought some chalkboard paint, paint roller and a paint tray from the hardware store. Paint one coat of chalkboard paint on them and let dry for 1 day, then paint a second coat on them and let that coat dry for one more day. After three days you can go ahead and write on them. All you need to clean them off with after you write on them is a rag and water. Make sure you read the chalkboard paint can for instructions. The tables turned out awesome and the kids are enjoying them!

Halloween Pumpkin Jail

pinningparent.blogspot.com I love Halloween! Here is a pumpkin I made for my sister that is a Police Officer. Just carve out the pumpkin in whatever shape you want, then add your decorations inside of it. I added skeleton’s, an empty candle container to put the LED Tealight in, black construction paper around the candle (to make it look like a burning barrel) and painted the chopsticks black. The most expensive part of making this was the pumpkin, I bought everything from the dollar store. I love this pumpkin and so did everyone else!

Name Recognition Ice Skates

pinningparent.blogspot.com I made these Ice Skates to go with my winter theme and to help the children learn recognition of their names. This helped the children learn letters and how to spell their names. I added some different color hearts so we could work on colors, patterns and then matching the color patterns with the right Ice Skate. This also was a lesson on Ice Skates, which not too many children knew what they were. Please share some fun winter theme things you have done!
